Funding for Doyle Drive
To date, $640 million in local, state and federal funds have been secured towards Doyle Drive's $1.01 billion dollar price tag. As a potential solution to the $370M funding gap, a tolling feasability study is being conducted by the SFCTA to see if tolls could help close this gap for Doyle Drive. To learn more about the study, please view the tolling feasibility study fact sheet.

Welcome

Doyle Drive is a portion of Route 101 that winds one and a half miles along the northern edge of San Francisco and connects the San Francisco peninsula to the Golden Gate Bridge and the North Bay. It is located within the Presidio of San Francisco and provides access to historic and cultural landmarks including the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, the Presidio, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Palace of Fine Arts. View a video of the project setting.

Originally constructed in 1936 with narrow lanes, no median, and no shoulders, Doyle Drive is approaching the end of its useful life. Due to its importance within the regional transportation system, the Federal Highway Administration, the California Department of Transportation, and the San Francisco County Transportation Authority propose to improve seismic, structural, and traffic safety along Doyle Drive.

Recognizing the important role that all community members play in the project’s success, this website is intended to serve as a source of information and as a tool to encourage public involvement in the project.
